Germany An Incident in Weißenfels 6 January 2025 Today, while heading to Leipzig via Weißenfels railway station, I found myself in quite an interesting situation. As I was standing on the platform, a rather confused-looking man approached me. His internet wasn't working, and he couldn't figure out how to get to the town of Mücheln. As it turned out, he didn't speak either German or English - only Turkish. Funnily enough, exactly a year ago, I was in precisely the same predicament myself, only at Bitterfeld station, and I had to sort it out on my own. I explained to the fellow that any train to Merseburg would do, such as the one heading towards Halle. From there, he'd need to change to the S11, which would take him to Mücheln. My train to Leipzig was scheduled right after the Halle-bound one, so I waited with him until his train arrived. When he asked if this was the right train for him, I confirmed it was spot on. We said our goodbyes, and afterwards, I was left with a peculiar feeling - a sort of surreal sensation. Perhaps it's because I'm approaching my one-year anniversary of living in Germany.
