Archive                  I Have Changed My Name               1 May 2023


   My new name is René Coignard.

   Behind this curious combination of letters lies more than five years
   of thoughtful and meticulous work.  I am incredibly happy to finally
   consider this highly important personal project complete.

   Let me clarify right away that I have only changed my name de facto;
   my legal name will remain the same, and I have no plans to update it.
   For this reason, both the authorities and my colleagues are free to
   address me by my old name.

   The final decision to use my new name in everyday life was made
   shortly before my move to Georgia: thanks to this, all my new
   acquaintances and friends call me by the name I have chosen for
   myself.

   A statement regarding the name change, signed with a qualified
   electronic signature and PGP, can be found at /proof-of-identity.
   This doc carries no legal weight but is useful for the PGP web of
   trust.
